How to create, schedule and send a bulk marketing campaign
Bulk marketing campaigns can be sent via Swim and scheduled to follow your marketing plan. The guide below will walk you through how to create, schedule and send bulk messages to your customers.
How to send a bulk SMS or MMS
- Navigate to Customers > New Bulk Message
- In the recipients drop down select the group of customers that should be receiving the message.
- a) If sending an SMS you should type in your message or select a pre-existing message template
b) If sending an MMS upload your image file, enter a subject line and message. The subject line will be sent in bold and above the message. - Select your sender ID. Business Names are not available for bulk messages as they do not allow for replies.
- Tick the schedule switch if you are scheduling the message to be sent at a later time.
- Click Preview Bulk Message
- Review the preview list and take note of the account balance and your bulk message cost. Your balance should be higher than the message cost and topping up your account might be necessary before proceeding. Any customers will an invalid number will be shown and excluded from the bulk message campaign.
- Click Send Bulk Message
If the bulk message has been scheduled you can manage the send out until 1 minute before the scheduled delivery time by selecting the Scheduled Messages option under Utilities > Communications > Schedule Messages.
Once a bulk message has been sent the message history is recorded against your Clicksend account under Utilities > Communications > Message history. Individual customer communications are stored via Customers > Find Customer Communications.
Customer recipient groups are automatically managed and updated by Swim in real time. Contact lists are self managed and you should follow the Contact list guide for more information.
Customers who reply STOP to your messages are automatically excluded from future messages and Swim will update the mailing list status on each customer profile page as required.
