Creating inbound messaging rules
Inbound rules allows Swim to complete certain automated actions based on how customers reply to your messages. A basic example of an inbound rule is how customers are able to opt-out from marketing messages. By default all Swim sites have the inbound rule of 'If message exactly matches "STOP" then exclude from mailing list' and this means if a customer replies with the word STOP then Swim will update the customer profile to exclude the customer from the mailing list.
The inbound rules can be expanded upon further by following the steps below.
- Navigate to Utilities > Communications > Message Config
- Select if the inbound message rule should look for a phrase that contains a specific word or if the message received needs to exactly match a specific word
- Type in the key word
- Choose the action Swim should complete such as reply with, add to loyalty program, exclude from mailing list.
Should the action you require not be present in the inbound rules section please contact Swim support for assistance.
