- In the stock details, click 'Components' on the right side of the screen.
- In the 'Supplier Name' field, select a supplier from the dropdown list.
- Enter the supplier code
- The qty (of the component), date and tax invoice number fields are optional.
- Enter the cost of the component.
Note: If this is the main component, then check the box in the column named 'Main Comp'. - Click 'Save'.
- Repeat steps 4 - 8 if you have more than one component.
Note: You can add a stock item as a component of another stock item. When adding a stock item as a component simply select the supplier name as 'stock' and the supplier code field will change to say stock number. Insert the stock number in this field (or search for the number by clicking on the magnifying glass). The component stock item will then have a location of 'component in...' if it is a unique item and will no longer show as in stock. If the component stock item is a quantity stock item, the quantity on hand will be reduce by the component quantity used.
Note: The cost is the cost per quantity. You can add in the quantity as units, grams, carat weight, etc. Just ensure the cost you enter is the cost per that measurement. Eg cost per carat if the qty is in carat weight.
