How to create a Gift Voucher / Gift Card / Gift Certificate

A gift voucher sale has two parts, selling the voucher to one customer, and redeeming the gift voucher (to another person who was the recipient of the voucher)

The article looks at step 1, selling the voucher.

When selling (i.e. creating) Gift Vouchers consider them in the same manner that you would a sale, except instead of selling the customer an item, you are selling them the voucher:

1. Start by creating a new sale with the customer who is purchasing the voucher. Refer to the knowledgebase article: 03. How to perform a sale in Swim
2. After selecting the customer, click on 'Gift Voucher'.
3. Tab through the fields and enter the required information, such as the recipients name.
4. Enter a value for the Gift Voucher and click 'Save'.
5. Add a payment to the sale, selecting the payment type that is being used to purchase the gift voucher.
6. Select to print the voucher
7. You can also select to print a receipt for the customer 
8. Exit the sale
