What is the Swim and Shopify integration?

The Swim and Shopify integration provides a live two-way sync, allowing stock, sales, and customer information to be automatically shared between both platforms. All necessary development has already been completed by TJS, and you will use an in-house created Shopify app to manage the sync.

What can the Swim and Shopify integration provide my business?

The integration offers a range of features, including:

  • Automatic syncing of stock entered in Swim to Shopify.
  • Customer profiles matched between both platforms.
  • Real-time sales creation in Swim when customers purchase online.

If you are considering the Swim & Shopify integration, we recommend:

Important: The Shopify integration offers two stock sync methods. It is critical to choose the method that best suits your business before integration, as switching methods later requires significant data rework.

What are the two stock sync methods?

Supplier Sync

Supplier Sync leverages supplier codes to group products into a single Shopify product page with variants. This is best suited for businesses offering customers multiple choices of the same product type (e.g. finger sizes, metal types, styles).

Example:

  • You sell rings available in two metal types and three finger sizes.
  • By linking the items together using supplier codes, one product page in Shopify will display all combinations of the ring.

Supplier code structure (example only):

  • YBC152045001014 → Yellow Gold, Size 14
  • YBC152045001016 → Yellow Gold, Size 16
  • WBC073230002019 → White Gold, Size 19

The end result is a single product page in Shopify where customers can select the desired size and metal type.

If you primarily sell unique or one-off items, or you prefer separate Shopify pages for each variant, use the Stock Sync method instead.

Stock Sync

Stock Sync provides a straightforward way to sync products individually or link them together as variants on a per-stock-number basis. This method is ideal for businesses selling unique pieces or a small range of variants.

Non-variant example:

  • G1234 – Gold Ring
  • G2345 – Silver Ring

Each ring can appear as its own product page in Shopify by setting WEB ITEM = YES. Alternatively, they can be linked as variants to appear on a single product page.

Variant example:

  • G1234 is set as a VARIANT OF G2345 with VARIANT OPTION = Metal Type.
  • This creates one Shopify product page with a dropdown for “Gold” or “Silver.”
  • The correct item is automatically sold in Swim depending on the customer’s choice.

How often does the sync run?

The sync runs every 60 seconds using a queue system. If many changes are made at once, the oldest change is processed first, followed by the remaining updates.

Is the Shopify integration included in my subscription?

The Shopify Integration is an optional add-on available to all Swim subscribers:

  • $35.00 per month
  • No percentage is taken from sales processed.
  • No additional connection fees apply.
