Preparing your images for use in Shopify

Stock images are capped at a maximum file size of 5MB by default.  This can be raised upon request by contacting Swim Support.

The maximum resolution accepted by Swim and shared to Shopify is 1920 x 1080.

Acceptable image file types include JPG, PNG and GIF.

Video formats are not supported and should be converted to GIF or uploaded via Shopify.

Images stored in Swim can be set for sole use by Swim or also shared with Shopify. You can determine whether an image is considered a web image by ensuring the FOR WEB toggle is enabled on images stored in Swim. Note by default all images are set as FOR WEB.

Image ALT Tags can be handled by Swim through the use of the Image Description field that appears below each image uploaded onto your stock. ALT Tags can also be handled in Shopify however they will not sync back to Swim if entered via Shopify. We recommend making use of the Image Description field in Swim where possible.

The image order that appears on your Shopify products page is determined by the order of image set in Swim. Images can be reordered in Swim by clicking and dragging each image up and down the image list from within the Pictures tab on the item details page.
