Getting started with printing

The Swim system uses .pdf file type documents to print. What this means is you can set up any printer on your computer, and as long as it prints a pdf, it will print from Swim.

To set up printing in Swim you need to:
1. Set up the printer you want to use on your computer (whether that is a windows pc, mac, laptop) and/or your network (to print from other computers including tablets, smartphones and pc's)
2. Select the type of printout you want in Swim.  To do this you go to utilities, printing, manage printable documents.
You will need to select the receipt type, job packet type and stock tag layout.  For receipts and job packets you can choose between a docket style or plain paper. If performing sales from tablets, ipads or smartphones you can use any of the printer layouts, or you can choose to email receipts instead.  Swim does recommend using the full page receipt printouts from tablets and smartphones rather than the receipt docket style as the paper printouts do look nicer.

Receipts
The receipt styles to choose from are:
- Docket Receipt (for paper width 60mm/2.36" and 80mm/3.15")
- Docket Receipt Style 2  (for paper width 60mm/2.36" and 80mm/3.15")
- Full Page Receipt (prints one copy of the receipt to A4, Letter, A5 or half letter. to print A5 or half letter you just need to change your printer setting to that setting)
- Full Page Receipt Style 2 (prints one copy of the receipt to A4, Letter, A5 or half letter. to print A5 or half letter you just need to change your printer setting to that setting)
- Two Fold Receipt (prints two copies of the receipt to A4 or Letter)

Job Packets / Repair Slips
The job packet / repair slip styles to choose from are:
- Docket Repair (for paper width 60mm/2.36" and 80mm/3.15")
- Docket Repair Style 2 (for paper width 60mm/2.36")
- Full Page Repair (prints one copy of the receipt to A4, Letter, A5 or half letter. to print A5 or half letter you just need to change your printer setting to that setting)
- Full Page Repair Style 2 (prints one copy of the receipt to A4, Letter, A5 or half letter. to print A5 or half letter you just need to change your printer setting to that setting)
- Two Fold Repair (prints two copies of the job packet to A4 or Letter)
- Three Fold Repair (prints three copies of the job packet to A4 or Letter. This style is designed for the speciality three fold template with built in job packet at http://www.isiprint.com/jewelryforms/laser.html  Item LE-1 )



Stock Tags

You can purchase your stock tags through Swim or through a local supplier.  If purchasing locally please ensure the stock tags are compatible with the printer you have, and are compatible with the ribbon used in the printer.  We recommend full resin ribbon on plastic labels, so that they are ultrasonic proof. Notes about printing
You can print from any computer, tablet, smartphone or device that you use Swim on. To print from Swim all you need to ensure is that you can print to that printer outside of Swim (i.e you can print a test page or document by opening up any application on that device).  You can print from iPads and iPhones using airprint.
