Quantity Stock Basics

Quantity stock items are stock items that you carry many of, where the sale price or details of the item do not vary and the cost price of the item remains consistent.  A good example of when to use quantity stock is for watch batteries, charms, findings, cleaning products, gifts, costome jewelry and small loose stones (eg 1 pointers).

Important Notes:

  • Quantity stock items always have the same Swim stock number.
  • When entering in more stock, the quantity of this item increases.
  • Quantity stock items are usually sold on quick sales or used as components to other stock items. Seeing as there may be large numbers of quantity stock on hand, we don't want to give each individual item its own stock number. Instead, you assign the whole group one stock number and monitor its quantity on hand.
