Special note about using the suppler code or suppliers barcode

For some items it may be more practical for you to use the supplier code rather than the Swim stock number. For example, if the items come from the supplier with a tag already provided and you want to use that tag, rather than print a new one.

Swim caters for this by allowing you to type or scan in the supplier code into the stock number field on the sale and stocktake pages.

Simply click into the stock number field on the sale or stocktake page, and enter the supplier code.  Swim will then find the item and show it on the screen.  If there are multiple items with that supplier code, you will be shown all items and can then choose the one that you want.

This special feature is available when performing a sale or stocktake. On the find stock  screen you can use the 'supplier code' search field to find the item.

This feature also works for supplier barcodes, where the barcode is different from the supplier code. This happens when the supplier has a barcoded ticket on the item, but that barcode is different to the reference number (i.e supplier code) that they use on the invoice.  See 'supplier barcodes'  to leaarn more. Once th supplier barcodes are in Swim, you can scan these in on the stocktake and sale page, as above.
